Library Policies

Tempe High Library Policies

Hours of Operation:

Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday from 7:30 AM – 4 PM

Wednesday from 7:30 AM – 2:10 PM

Friday from 7:30 AM – 3:35 PM

***On occasion, exceptions to the posted library hours may occur.


Admittance:

  • A Library Pass and a visible current student ID are required during class time for admittance to the library.
  • Before/after school and during lunch no pass is required, however, students must have a visible current student ID.

 

Checking Out Materials:

  • A current Tempe High student ID is required to check out materials.
  • Students may check out three (3) books for a period of three weeks.  Books may be renewed for an additional three weeks provided they are not being held on request for another student.
  • Books not returned within ten (10) days of the due date will be marked lost.
  • Students with overdue books or fines are restricted from checking out any additional materials until overdue books are returned and fines are resolved.
  • Students must pay for lost or damaged items.

 

Library Computers:

  • Students agree to follow the TUHSD Technology Use Agreement when they sign the TUHSD Student Policies and Regulations Student Handbook.
  • The main use of the library computers is for academic research and/or class-related activities, accessing school Gmail accounts, and StudentVue. 
  • Students may not play computer games.
  • Students are NOT ALLOWED in the J-Lab without Adult Supervision.

 

Expected Behavior in the Tempe Library:

  • Students must wear their Tempe High student ID to enter the library.
  • Food (including candy) and drinks are not allowed in the library.  All food and drinks must be left on the table when you enter the library.
  • The use of electronic communication and entertainment devices is discouraged when it is deemed distracting; cell phone conversations must be conducted outside the Library.
  • Violation of school rules and/or disrespect for staff, students, or property may result in loss of library privileges, expulsion from the library, and/or referral to administration.
